The Fundación Laureus Argentina was founded in May 2003, by Academy member, Hugo Porta. The former legendary rugby player is now President of the Foundation and very involved in its daily management, while also making time to visit the excellent projects supported by the Foundation. The headquarters are in Buenos Aires but the Foundation's work extends to distant Argentine provinces that greatly benefit from its backing.
The Fundación Laureus España was launched in May 2006, during the Laureus World Sports Awards in Barcelona, leaving behind a legacy which is benefiting people throughout Spain.Chairman of the Fundación Laureus España is Gabriel Masfurroll. It also boasts the support of Academy member Miguel Indurain, who act as committed trustee and spokesperson.

The first National Foundation was established in Stuttgart, Germany, in 2001. With the dedicated support of Academy Members Boris Becker, Franz Beckenbauer, Franz Klammer and Katarina Witt, the German Foundation funds a large number of projects throughout the country. Many successful fundraising events are organised each year in benefit of the Foundation's work.
The Fondazione Laureus Italia, based in Milan and founded in 2005, benefits from an influential local Board of Trustees, including among others Adriano Galliani, the Vice-President of AC Milan. Academy members Giacomo Agostini and Alberto Tomba actively support the work of the Foundation, through visiting its projects and raising its profile.
The South African Foundation was set up in 2002 by Academy member Morné du Plessis, who remains actively involved through his role as Chairman. The Foundation is based in Cape Town but the projects it supports are located all over the vast country, using multiple sports and methodologies to address a large variety of pressing social concerns.
The Laureus Foundation Switzerland was launched in June 2007. "Helping disadvantaged children and youth through sports."The Laureus Foundation Switzerland primarily supports established, national projects that open up new perspectives, create pleasure in leading an active lifestyle and promote intercultural exchange. The projects the foundation supports and their activities aim to provide shared experiences through sport for socially-, economically- and physically-disadvantaged children and youth.The Foundation is joined by well-known Swiss sports stars such as Lara Gut, Natascha Badmann, Edith Hunkeler and Alain Sutter in supporting the activities of the Foundation.
Tuesday, 22 September 2009 dawned bright with hope in Amsterdam as some of Holland’s greatest sports stars came together to launch the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation The Netherlands.
Under the leadership of Prince Pieter-Christiaan van Oranje and together with the three ambassadors; Esther Vergeer, Yvonne van Gennip and Pieter van den Hoogenband, the Laureus Foundation the Netherlands has already begun its Sport for Good work by initiating support for several projects throughout The Netherlands.
With an impressive Board of Trustees that includes four Academy members - Edwin Moses, Nadia Comaneci and Michael Johnson - the US Foundation has a strong team legendary athletes committed to taking on the challenge of helping others change their own lives. The Foundation is based in New York and was established in 2003.
