Our Challenges

Even now, at the start of the 21^st century, too many of the world's children are living lives of terrible hardship.

Laureus uses the power of sport to help tackle the causes of this hardship through a worldwide programme of community sports projects. These are funded and supported by the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation.

Challenges being faced by the Foundation in their work include:

• Social Exclusion

• Gun & gang violence

• Discrimination in all its guises

• Community integration and cohesion

• Peace and reconciliation

• Education

• Health

To do this, the Foundation brings people together who share a belief in the power of sport to break down barriers, to engage with others and to change the world for the better by inspiring hope and positive change.

Sport is the universal language capable of this inspiration.

And it is through the integrity of the Laureus Academy Members, the work of the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation and its projects around the world along with the celebration of the Laureus World Sports Awards this belief in Sport for Good is growing stronger and stronger.
