The Laureus Sport for Good Foundation are proud to announce that sporting legends MARTINA NAVRATILOVA, MICHAEL TEUBER, and GAIL EMMS will be scaling the highest peak in Africa to raise funds for the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation.

DONATE IN $

Unfortunately this year’s climb is now full, but if you would like to register you interest in climbing next year or taking part in other fundraising events for the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation please contact Rebecca.Malcolm@laureus.com or check out our Get Involved page.

The funds raised from the climb will go towards supporting the 80 projects that Laureus support around the globe that use sport to tackle some of the world’s most pressing social issues from gang violence in Brazil and the UK to conflict resolution in the Middle East and Cyprus to HIV / Aids in South Africa and India.

DONATE IN $

This includes projects such as the Mathare Youth Sports Association (MYSA) which Martina and the team will be visiting at the start of the climb. MYSA uses football as a tool to encourage co-operation, raise self-esteem and promote physical and environmental health in the Mathare community.

Martina visited the Fight for Peace project in East London earlier this year. Fight for Peace engages at-risk young people within inner-city areas, where gangs, knife and gun violence are rife, and through boxing and martial arts offers real alternatives to crime. Click here to find out how Martina got on.

Giving as little as €10 could provide a football for MYSA participants in Kenya.

€50 could provide a set of boxing gloves for Fight for Peace participants in East London.

€200 could buy a wheelchair for a disabled participant at the IMAGE project in India.

€1000 could provide ice skates, hockey sticks and protective gear for a team of 6 players at the Kick on Ice project in Germany.
