The Ride

We are offering you the opportunity to enter one of the most demanding and rewarding cycle challenges of the year. The TorTour is a 1000km non-stop team cycle around Switzerland. Teams of six cyclists take it in turns to complete individual stages and join together to compete in the exhilarating team stages. All of this after a testing team time trial to decide on starting positions.

In 2009 former downhill skiing World Champion Urs Lehmann (President of the Laureus Foundation Switzerland) joined the team of riders who took part on behalf of the Laureus Foundation Switzerland. The team went on to win the six-person team event - an experience that none of them will ever forget.

Riders will be supported by a dedicated Laureus crew who will drive the support vehicles, providing nourishment and a place to grab some precious sleep.  Fantastic scenery along the Swiss borders, challenging night stages, sleep deprivation, tremendous team spirit and the pride to have accomplished something extraordinary together all make the Tortour a truly unique and challenging event.

Trip Costs

The cost for this event to each participant is £250. You will need to send this to us by 1st May. Once this payment is received you will be sent a Welcome Pack which will give you a complete overview of the event.

Included in your trip:

• 3 nights accommodation (Thursday, Friday, Saturday)
• Return flights from London to Zurich
• Transport to the start and from the finish
• All food and drink
• Pre-race pasta party and post race celebratory brunch
• Support vehicles
• Branded event cycling clothing
• Time measurement for cyclists, including team time trial
• Route book and GPS data

Payment does not include:

• Bike and other cycling equipment
• Personal insurance
• Bike insurance
• Meals before the event has started and after it has ended

Fundraising

Target: £1,250 per participant

By taking part, each participant agrees to raise a minimum of £1,250 in sponsorship for the Foundation. This money will be donated through the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation to one of the 70+ projects supported worldwide that use sport to tackle some of the most pressing social issues facing society today.

Final sponsorship donations must to be received by 30th Spetember 2010.
