Italian club AC Milan won their seventh Champions League/European Cup title when they beat English team Liverpool 2-1 in May. Only Real Madrid have won the premier European title more often with nine victories. In their current squad, AC Milan have Brazilian midfield player Kaka, winner of the FIFA World Player of the Year, Cafu, Gennaro Gattuso, Filippo Inzaghi, Paolo Maldini, Alessandro Nesta and Clarence Seedorf.
