All the hard work and determination finally paid off for Mick Fanning, concluding with a win at the Hang Loose Santa Catarina Pro in Brazil. After repeatedly knocking on surfing's door, five previous top ten finishes but no overall trophy, Mick Fanning finally kicked the door in. He won the 2007 Year End ASP World Tour, based largely on dominant consistency. This year, he took three firsts (winning not only in Brazil, but also at the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast as well as the Quiksilver Pro France), one second, four third places and only one blemish (17th at California's Trestles).
