Christine Ohuruogu ended the year on a high after winning the World Championship 400 metres gold medal in Osaka and being named British Athlete of the Year. Ohuruogu, 23, was banned for a year on August 6, 2006 after missing three drugs test and she ran the 400 metres just 23 days after the ban ended. It was only her fifth race since her suspension.
