Spanish football star Juan Mata has joined Laureus and Global Partner IWC this week to help showcase a very special watch in support of the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation.

The special edition Laureus Portofino Chronograph has been created annually for the past six years, with sales proceeds going directly to support the work of the Foundation across the world.

But what makes the piece extra special is that one lucky youngster from a Laureus-supported project is tasked with the honour of designing the image on the back of the watch.

This year's design, which you can see above, was drawn by seven year old Kumara Wadu Parami Apsara, a beneficiary of the Seenigama Sport for Life project in Sri Lanka.

"I am delighted to collaborate with a cause like this," said Juan, who is also a Premier League star for Chelsea FC,  "the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation has helped more than a million children around the world, using sport as a tool for social change."

The Seenigama project in Sri Lanka uses the massively popular sport of cricket to help rebuild communities following the devastation of the recent tsunami.
