The year 2013 promises to be highly significant for Laureusas we stage the Laureus World Sports Awards in the Southern Hemisphere for the fi rst time.

Rio de Janeiro will be at the centre of the sporting world over the next few years as it builds up to the 2014 FIFA World CupTM and the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games and it is fitting that we are able to take the Awards Ceremony there for the next two years. as we stage the Laureus World Sports Awards in the Southern Hemisphere for the first time.
