FC Barcelona legend Andrés Iniesta sat barefoot on the Camp Nou centre circle after his final match in his home, and Europe’s biggest, stadium. The incredible arena which holds so many special memories for the midfield maestro was eerily quiet as he took a few moments to reflect on his time with the Catalan club. “It was just me saying goodbye to my home,” Andrés said of the moment. “Every corner of the Camp Nou holds a memory. It’s very powerful, brutal. It was emotional.”

Andrés has spent the last 22 years with Barcelona, 16 of which were with the first team. He leaves Barcelona as one of the most successful players in the club’s history, having won nine La Liga titles, four Champions League triumphs, and six Copa del Rey victories.

Addressing fans after his final home match, Andrés said: "Thanks to all my team-mates, each and every one. I will miss you all so much. And thank you to the fans, for all your love, everything you've made me feel since I arrived here as a boy, I leave as a man. I will keep you in my heart forever.”
