The creator of most BMX ramp tricks in existence and founder of the enormously successful Bicycle Stunt (BS) Series, Hoffman is an unqualified legend who entered 2001 as a 10 time World Champion.
For these accomplishments -- plus freaky ones like BASE jumping his BMX bike off 3,500 foot cliffs in Norway -- Hoffman was presented in 2001 with a Lifetime Achievement award at the ESPN Action Sports and Music Show.
He followed that up by pioneering tow-in BMX: using a motorcycle to increase speeds before hitting a jump. The result: On April 1, 2001, Hoffman set the world record for the Highest Air on a BMX bike, reaching 26.5 feet above the deck of a 24-foot tall quarterpipe.
