Mountain Bike Action magazine calls her ‘untouchable’. The Norwegian
speedster dominated in 2004 and has won 11 consecutive World Cup
Cross-Country runs.
She led the entire way at the Athens Olympics, even though a mechanical problem delayed her for a full minute. Her dominating performance - she beat her closest competitor by 59 seconds - won her not just the gold medal, but also three prestigious Norwegian awards: The Endurance, Performer, and Sportsperson of the Year Award. She easily won the European Championships as well.
In naming her 2004 Rider of the Year, Mountain Bike magazine said: "Road or mountain, no rider showed the kind of dominance this year that Dahle did. She has not lost a world-level competition in more than two years. Her overall World Cup lead was more than 500 points to the next-placed rider."
