Australia’s Casey Stoner became the second youngest ever winner of the World MotoGP Championship in one of the sporting achievements of the year.  At the age of 21, the young man from Kurri Kurri, New South Wales, was so dominant that he clinched the title at the Japanese Grand Prix in September, with three races still remaining.  The remarkable Stoner won ten races during the season and helped his team Ducati become the first European manufacturer to win a MotoGP crown for 33 years.
