Won five gold medals in the FINA World Swimming Championships in Melbourne – 50 and 100 metres freestyle, 100 metres butterfly, 4 x 100 metres freestyle relay and 4 x 100 metres medley.  Also swam the world’s fastest ever time in 100 metres freestyle of 52.99 secs, leading off mixed relay at the Duel in the Pool match between Australia and United States, but the time was not ratified as a world record. Is the current world short course record holder in the 100 metres and 200 metres freestyle, 100 metres butterfly and 4x100 metres freestyle relay.
