In the 2009 World Diving Championships, held in Rome, talented young Briton Tom Daley won the individual ten metre platform gold medal at the age of 15.
Despite his lower tariff dives, Daley produced a score of 539.85 points, while his opponents had poor final dives - Qiu Bo finishing on 532.20 and Zhou Luxin on 530.55.  Daley is now ranked world No 1 for the ten metre platform.
Daley made his name at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 where he was the youngest competitor of any nationality outside swimming, and the youngest to participate in a final.
