The brilliant play-maker of Barcelona and the Spanish World Cup team. He scored the winning goal for Spain in the 116th minute of the 2010 FIFA World Cup Final against the Netherlands in South Africa and was named Man of the Match.
In the 2009/10 season, because of injuries, he missed pre-season fitness training and started in only 20 games for his club Barcelona, although he came on many times as substitute and played an important role in helping the team to win the Spanish La Liga with a record 99 points.
With his great versatility, work ethic and creativity, he has been described by Spanish coach Vicente del Bosque as “the complete footballer, he can attack and defend, he creates and scores”.
