It is little wonder that the incomparable Shaun White has won the ESPN award for Best Male Action Sports Athlete four years in a row. He began the year with yet another gold medal at the Winter X Games, in the men’s Superpipe. It was his fourth straight win in Superpipe, a record in any Winter X Games event, and gave him a remarkable total of 11 golds in Winter X.
His winning run saw White throw the first double McTwist 1260 since his victory lap in the Olympics. The run earned him a 97.33 - an identical score to his winning run last year and tied for the highest score in Winter X Games history. In his summer sport, skateboarding, he won X Games gold in Vert. No matter what season, White nails every trick.
