Nadine Angerer was captain of the German Women’s Football Team which won their sixth straight European Championship in 2013. She also became the first goalkeeper to win the FIFA Women’s World Player of the Year Award. Angerer, who plays for Portland Thorns in the US National Women's Soccer League, saved two penalties in the final in Stockholm where Germany beat Norway 1-0.
