The versatile South African had an impressive 2015. In the men's H1 class at the Para-Cycling World Championships, he won double gold in the time trial and road race and finished the season unbeaten to take first place in the world rankings. On the track, in wheelchair competition, the 35-year-old broke the 10,000 metres T51 world record and set new African records in the 200m, 1,500m and 10,000m.  He is the 2015 world No.1 in the 800m, 1,500m, 5,000m, and 10,000m.
