The All Blacks became the first team to win back-to-back Rugby World Cups and the first to win the competition three times, after beating Australia 34-17 in the final at Twickenham. Led by coach Steve Hansen and inspired by captain Richie McCaw, who retired afterwards as the most capped player in Test history with 148 appearances, they were the dominant team throughout.
Fly-half Dan Carter was honoured as Rugby Player of the Year in the World Rugby Awards and Nehe Milner-Skudder, who scored six tries, was named Breakthrough Player of the Year. This is the sixth time the All Blacks have been nominated for the Laureus World Team of the Year Award.
