Mo Farah secured a historic ‘double double’, when he won the 5,000 metres and 10,000 metres gold medals in the Rio Olympics, repeating his success from London in 2012. He is only the second athlete after Lasse Viren to achieve this. Farah also won the 5,000 and 10,000 metres double at the 2013 and 2015 World Championships, confirming his place as one the greatest distance runners of all time. No other athlete has won the distance double four times in global events.
