The skill, passion and firepower of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Brazilian super star Neymar has given FC Barcelona an outstanding chance of winning their second Laureus World Team of the Year Award, following their Champions League victory over Juventus.
Laureus Ambassador and former Germany and Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann says: “Right now it looks like Messi, Suarez and Neymar are the best attacking force in the world.”
French World Cup winner and Laureus Academy Member Marcel Desailly agrees. He says: “The arrival of Luis Suarez has made a real difference to Barcelona.”
While former Germany and Stuttgart striker Fredi Bobic called them: “The best attacking trio in modern football. I have never seen a trio like this in the past ten years.”
Barcelona last won the Laureus World Team of the Year Award in 2012, following their Champions League victory over Manchester United. No team has won this prestigious Award more than once.
However, they are likely to face tough opposition. The MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS team are looking in good shape in the Formula One World Championship after another one-two victory from Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg in the Canadian Grand Prix.
