Hungarian sporting idol Zusuzsanna Krajnyak produced a remarkable performance in the European Wheelchair Fencing Championships in Madrid in December, where she dominated the event, winning four gold medals.  She won individual gold medals in the epee and foil, and team gold medals in the epee and foil.
During an excellent year, she also won gold medals in the epee and foil in the Wheelchair Fencing World Cup held in Lonato, Italy in May and silver in the individual epee and bronze in the team epee in the World Cup event held in Warsaw in July.
Born with a disorder in her left leg, Krajnyak is a strong role model for the Paralympic movement.  She is a member of every organising committee for wheelchair fencing in Budapest and travels extensively to promote Paralympic sport.  She is a popular figure much sought after by the Hungarian media.
