Winner
Named World Rugby Player of the Year after his performance in the Rugby World Cup, when the New Zealand All Blacks became the first team to win back-to-back titles. It was a triumphant comeback for Carter who missed most of the 2011 Rugby World Cup with an injury and has struggled with problems for years.
At this year’s World Cup, he played in the semi-final and final despite a knee injury. In the final against Australia he successfully kicked four penalties, two conversions and a drop goal and was named Man of the Match.
