Won the Davis Cup for the first time since 1936. World number two Andy Murray led his team to victory, winning all three of his matches in the final to beat Belgium 3-1. Over the year, Great Britain have also beaten the United States, France and Australia. In five years, captain Leon Smith has led Britain from the Davis Cup third tier to victory. Andy Murray was supported by his brother Jamie and James Ward.  Murray joins John McEnroe and Mats Wilander as the only men to have an 8-0 singles record in a Davis Cup year, and, with the doubles, he is the fourth man to win 11 matches in a year.
