Set up in 1985, the Cheshire Foundation Action for Inclusion works to minimise the incidence of disability and improve the lives of children and adults with disabilities. In order to facilitate inclusion, the organisation uses athletics, table tennis, chase and darts to encourage children with and without disabilities to play together.
Since 2000, Cheshire Foundation Action for Inclusion has been practicing CBR, a strategy within the general community development for the rehabilitation, equalization of opportunities, poverty reduction and social inclusion of persons with disabilities. This program is targeting Persons with Disabilities in general and children, women and girls with disabilities in particular as they are exposed to multiple discrimination because of their age, gender, poverty and disability.
