In Germany, thousands of children live on the streets, which can lead to lives filled with drug use and crime. KICK on Ice, an ice hockey and speed skating programme in Berlin, aims to get youth off the streets at night.

Operating every Saturday from 9pm until midnight, KICK on Ice offers young people a safe space where they have access to sport and educational opportunities. Values such as team spirit and fair play are integrated into activities.

For many children, KICK on Ice is a central contact point to escape a vicious cycle of violence, frustration, boredom, and crime.
