Right Development Foundation Sports

Right Development Foundation Sports, known as RDF was established in 2010 in London by Lamar Roberts, with the vision in mind of using basketball to bring communities together, to develop social action and restore relationships within families; keeping in mind that helping those in need is always a top priority for us as a foundation

RDFBANNER
Right Development Foundation Sports (RDF) is a community focused organisation using the power of sport to address key local and pan London social issues. Their geographical focus in London boroughs includes: Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge, Newham and Hackney Within these areas through consultation with our key partners, participants and the local community, as well as their workforce, RDF have identified 4 Social Impact Strands (SIS): Community Cohesion, Youth engagement, Training and Development and Female Engagement. These remits act as a strategic guide for future fundraising and themed programming to maximise a positive impact on the community. RDF engages up to 500 members each week within settings such as schools, leisure centres, community halls, youth clubs and outdoor settings. The Model City Covid 19 Response Fund Grant will allow RDF to fund a Mental Health First Aid training course and include some general upskilling around how to support participants during the pandemic and beyond, which will expand greater impact on the Barking community and support more individuals to combat the negative effect of COVID-19 on their mental health. They also will open this opportunity up to other local organisations working with Laureus Sport for Good in the Barking Model City London pilot.
