Star Dreams Basketball

Star Dreams Basketball sessions aim to develop positive values and skills on the basketball court that can be applied off the court to help young people in their daily lives.

Many families come to Taiwan from mainland China and other parts of Asia. Often, they are from low-income backgrounds or single-parent families, and their homes in Taiwan are in very poor conditions. For many reasons, including parental drug addiction, children are often emotional and lack self-confidence.

Working closely with social workers from the Chinese Christian Relief Association, which has centres across Taiwan, both professional and university-level basketball students deliver basketball sessions on Saturday afternoon across North, Central and South Taiwan. The aim of these Star Dreams Basketball sessions is to develop positive values and skills on the basketball court that can be applied off the court to help young people in their daily lives.
