Iran’s superb powerlifter Kazem Rajabi Golojeh created two new world records during 2006 in the super heavy 100kg-plus category.  He first lifted a massive 255kg in the IPC Powerlifting World Championships in South Korea in May. Then he improved on that with 255.5kg at the FESPIC Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in October.
Kazem became disabled due to polio when he was just two-years-old. In 1993 he began body building to strengthen his feet and in 1995, when he was 18, he was encouraged by friends to try powerlifting and he instantly knew he had found his vocation.  Kazem, who married in 2005, is now preparing himself for the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games.
