Special Olympics Argentina is a non-profit civil association with national scope and 40 years of experience in Argentina, belonging to the international Special Olympics movement, present in more than 170 countries. In 2018, the 50th Anniversary of Special Olympics was celebrated around the world.

In 1988, Special Olympics was recognized by the International Olympic Committee, thus being the only sports organization authorised by the IOC to use the word "Olympics" in its name.
Through teacher and community leader training, the objective is to promote the biopsychosocial development of children with intellectual disabilities from 2 years of age, through stimulation activities and pre-sports games.
