Shaishav aims to engage children and young people ages 6 to 19 from Bhavnagar, Gujarat, India in innovative, educational and fun ways to help them understand values of independent thought, friendship and solidarity.

The programme ensures that children know their rights, remain protected from abuse, have the support to work collectively to ensure their rights, and grow into empowered and democratic leaders of social change.

Shaihav’s current Laureus-supported project fosters the holistic development of all children, with a special focus on girls from the most vulnerable areas of the community.  Through cooperative games, Welindo self-defence classes (specifically for girls), and reflective follow up discussions and workshops, children acquire life skills and challenge gender stereotypes.
