Grinta Sorriso activities take place in Milan, where in the peripheral areas, there are places of hardship that need and deserve our attention. Specifically the intervention areas cover the Giambellino district, in the southern outskirts of Milan. The peripheral contexts in which Laureus operates are realities characterized by problems that have a specific impact on the most vulnerable groups, namely the children and young people who live there. In particular, the socio-economic discomfort of families means the impossibility of having access to those practices that are fundamental for their growth and evolution, such as sport. The problems that are generally encountered also have to do with the whole relational sphere; the difficulty in approaching reference adults; a lack of healthy communication with peer groups as well as; an inability to follow rules.
Thanks to Laureus and those who support and believe in the values and mission of foundations such as Grinta Sorriso, sport demonstrates its value and potential for these children, helping them through the use of different disciplines.
