Rome Volleyball

The Laureus Sport for Good Foundation has been collaborating with the "Athlon Volley" sports club and the "Giuliano da Sangallo" secondary school for over three years. A group of around 20 children aged between 7 and 10 are helped each year through the sport of volleyball. The school gymnasium, where sessions take place, is nearby to the most deprived districts of the coast. In the Ostia area, teachers often report problems and difficulties with regard to respecting the rules.

Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964.
