It is estimated that over 83,000 homeless young people rely on councils and charities for shelter each year - a figure more than three times what the British government officially identifies as the homeless youth population.
The Running Charity created the UK’s first running-orientated programme for homeless young people. By engaging youth in regular running-based activities with qualified fitness professionals, in conjunction with personal development workshops aimed at supporting participants’ goals for the future, the programme instills positive mindsets and encourages self-confidence in participants. The Running Charity partners with existing homeless charities to promote healthy and productive lifestyles and to deliver diverse, highly-engaging training sessions.
