South Bronx United

South Bronx United is a youth development organization that uses soccer to engage immigrant and first-generation youth and to support the broader South Bronx community.

The South Bronx is an incredibly diverse community with an exceptional mix of institutions and agencies that are making a positive difference on a daily basis; yet, the community is one of the poorest districts in the nation (U.S. Census Bureau, 2010). Hunger rates and obesity rates are among the highest the country. Together, the school districts perform the lowest in the state. At the same time, the borough, and the South Bronx in particular, have the fastest growing immigrant population in the city.

South Bronx United is a youth development organization that uses soccer to engage immigrant and first-generation youth and to support the broader South Bronx community. We serve more than 1,000 boys and girls ages 4 to 19, combining recreational and competitive youth soccer with academic enrichment, college prep, mentoring, health and wellness promotion, leadership development, immigration legal services, and other individual and family supports.
