USA’s two-time Olympic 400m hurdles champion Edwin Moses received the Laureus Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2018 Laureus Awards Ceremony in Monaco. As well as winning two Olympic gold medals, Moses remained unbeaten for nine years, nine months and nine days in his specialist event. He also won two world titles and set four world records. He is now a world leader in the fight against the use of illegal drugs in sport.

My involvement with the World Sports Academy began at the first meeting with Nelson Mandela. All we knew back then was that we were going to use sport as a tool for social change and we had no structure, no leader or anything. To see where the academy is today and where the foundation is today is very satisfying.
