Gabriel Masfurroll, President of Fundación Laureus España, and Rafael Medina, trustee of the Foundation, have introduced Josef Ajram this morning as new ambassador of the Foundation in Spain. Ajram, athlete and daytrader, joins the Laureus project, which uses sport as a means of social integration. The naming have been announce at the preparation of the “Imparables” team for the Absa Cape Epic, a Mountain Bike race that will be held from the 21st to the 30th March, in which Ajram will participate among others together with the actor Santi Millán or Rafael Medina. The competition will be held in Cape Town, South Africa, where the team will also travel to visit one of the projects that the Laureus Foundation has there accompanied by the ambassadors of the Foundation in South Africa.
There are a few ties that bind Josef Ajram and the Foundation. Besides the passion for sport, they share an unwavering spirit of overcoming, and the firm conviction that, with effort, anyone can achieve their goals regardless of the abilities.
On his appointment as ambassador of Fundación Laureus España, Gabriel Masfurroll has state: “We are very excited with Josef’s incorporation to our project. His passion for sport makes him the right person to work with us, because in addition of being a great expert of this world and its benefits destined for the inclusion of people at risk of social exclusion, he is a great example of motivation and personal enrichment”. For his part, he affirms he is “excited with this new challenge, as I fully share the vision of Fundación Laureus España of how sport can change the world”.
One of the first steps of collaboration between Ajram and Fundación Laureus España has been the creation of a fundraising through the website migranodearena.org whose profits will be earmarked for the project “For our heroes”, a scholarship program awarded by the Foundation.  In this fundraising in which Josef Ajram participates actively together with Rafael Medina, both athletes will compete in a charity challenge.  Participants can support their favorite through the website, making a donation to support Rafael (http://www.migranodearena.org/es/reto/3117/rafa-vs-josef-imparables/) or a donation to support Josef Ajram (http://www.migranodearena.org/es/reto/3116/josef-vs-rafa-imparables/). At the end of the challenge there will be a raffle of the materials of the members of the team among all those who have collaborated in the fundraising.
Josef Ajram Tarés (www.josefajram.es) is a daytrader, writer and extreme athlete, a complete athlete who regularly competes in triathlon, cycling or marathons, therefore he is very familiar with the dynamics of sport. Thanks to his effort and spirit of overcoming he has completed several ironman – the most demanding triathlon race – such as Austria, Switzerland or South Korea. Among his achievements, it also includes being the first Spanish to finish the ultraman in Hawai and Canada. Ajram also combines his love of sport with his love for stock market, the profession that he has been dedicated for the last 12 years. As a writer, he has published four books on coaching and finance.
