Alex

Giorgetti

Alex Giorgetti was a member of the Italian waterpolo team which won silver at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Born in Budapest, Giorgetti represented Italy on numerous occasions, also winning a World Championship medal in 2011.

Born in Hungary, Alex Giorgetti became one of Italy’s greatest water polo players, being a stellar member of the team which won the 2011 world title in Shanghai and an Olympic silver medal in London in 2012. He was named Best Player in the competition for his outstanding performances in Shanghai. He also won a bronze medal in the European Championships in his native Budapest in 2014.
In 2012 he received the Gold Collar of Sporting merit from the Italian National Olympic Committee.
As a committed Christian, he passionately believes in the importance of helping those less fortunate. He has been a keen supporter of two organisations for the disabled Aiutiamo Giorgia and Voa Voa Onlus.
In 2016 he decided to also make himself available to play for Hungary, the country of his birth.
