Kambundji

Mujinga Kambundji is the fastest women in Switzerland’s athletics history and the first to break the 11” barrier in the 100m.

Her mother Ruth comes from the bernese Oberland, growing up on the family farm where her grandmother still lives to this day. Mujinga’s father Safuka is of Congolese descent.
She had her breakthrough at the home European Championships in Zürich 2014, where she got recognition for her exceptional results and her warm smile. Her biggest achievements are the bronze medals at the European Championships in 2016 and the World Indoor Championships in 2018.
In 2019, Mujinga won the bronze medal in the 200m World Championship race in Doha and achieved 9th place in the 100m.
