About the competition

The 2019 IWC Drawing Competition demonstrated the creative flair of young people from Laureus supported programmes around the world. Under the theme “Time to Care”, programme participants expressed their own thoughts on the importance of care in everyday life, through the creativity of drawing.
To encourage programmes to concentrate on the theme, young people were encouraged to bring to life what ‘care’ means to them in relation to their own lives. They were also asked to reflect on how their involvement in sport had enhanced their viewpoint on care about themselves, their families and others within the programme.
Reviewing the entries from Laureus supported programmes around the world, a jury of representatives from IWC Schaffhausen and Laureus Sport for Good selected the following shortlist of three drawings. The winning design will be engraved on the back of the 2020 IWC Schaffhausen “Laureus Sport for Good” special edition timepiece. The winning programme participant will also experience a unique and memorable visit from a Laureus Academy Member, while the programme will receive a donation from IWC.

Chairman of the Laureus World Sports Academy
“Care is such an important part of the work Laureus supports in more than 40 countries around the world and it is also integral to the partnership we have had with IWC Schaffhausen for over a decade. The Drawing Competition is a unique opportunity for the young people in the programmes we support to showcase their creativity around our key focus areas. It’s always a highlight for me to review the designs that come in from around the world and it is wonderful to see the winning drawing come to life in the engraving on the back of the special edition timepieces.”
