He may well be more used to the Olympic medal podium than the speaker’s podium, but that didn’t stop Laureus Academy Member Alexey Nemov from delivering a brilliantly received speech to the 76th AIPS Congress in Sochi last week.
Nemov was the special guest speaker at the Congress of the International Sports Press Association (AIPS) in the home of next year’s Winter Olympic Games. Here the Olympic champion spoke in front of over 300 journalists about the global work of the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation.
The most prominent sports journalists from the biggest international and Russian newspapers were present at the Congress where a broad spectrum of subjects affecting world sport were discussed.
Laureus has enjoyed being the official charity partner of the AIPS for several years, a partnership that has helped spread the Laureus Sport for Good message to an ever expanding community of the world’s sports journalists.
Nemov meanwhile has been a tireless supporter of the charitable work of the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation as an Academy Member, and recently visited a Moscow-based Laureus-supported project along with newest Laureus Ambassadors Elvira Khasyanova, Daria Korobova and Anzhelika Timanina.
Laureus.com are happy to report that, in recognition of his speech, Nemov was awarded a commemorative trophy.
