It was with great sadness that the world woke up to the news of Nelson Mandela's death. One of the truly great inspirational leaders of our generation and a man that fought like no other against apartheid and racial differences. We must ensure as individuals that his legacy is able to leads us into a future where there are no barriers, no social, ethnic, religious or racial abuses and where people through dialogue are able to put aside their interests in a view of creating a better world. That is the way he taught us and that is what we owe to him. My condolences to his family. May he rest in Peace.

"We will never forget Nelson Mandela. He visited Barcelona during the Olympic Games in 1992. It was a very useful experience for him to keep on struggling for the future of South Africa. Afterwards, he has inspired us, and has been an example of generosity and compassion, a very difficult exercise after 27 years in prison. And then, in 2010 at his homeland, our Football National Team reached the biggest dream, winning the World Cup. And FC Barcelona has been collaborating for a long time with Nelson Mandela Foundation. Thank you for everything Madiba, to infinity!".
