Laureus Golf for Good

The eagerly anticipated Charity Golf Tournament "Laureus Golf for Good" took place this week. Skier Lara Gut, jumpers Pius Schwizer and singer Baschi were just some of the Laureus Ambassadors to grace the beautiful Sempachersee Golf Club in scenic Lucerne.
More than 80 golf enthusiasts met in the heart of Switzerland to participate in the Pro-Am Charity tournament, raising an outstanding CHF 70,254 which will go towards "Laureus Girls in Sport", which promotes sport with young girls in Switzerland.
"It's great that we were able to inspire so many high-profile professional athletes for this special day," said Laureus Switzerland Managing Director Evelyn Fankhauser. "Since the first Laureus Golf Tournament held in 2009, we have gained over CHF 350,000 and we want to thank everyone who has been involved.”
Laureus Ambassador and skier Lara Gut, who was among the players, said:
"I am a better skier than golfer, but that is not what today is about. I am here to help the ‘Laureus Girls in Sport’. This specific project is really important to me because teenage years are difficult, especially for young women, and sport can really help to get through them. "
"Laureus Golf for Good" has matured into one of the most prestigious charity golf tournaments in Switzerland, which was confirmed by Board of Trustees President Rolf Theiler:
"The Laureus Foundation combines sport and social affairs, and makes an important contribution to society in Switzerland.”
