Laureus Legends join Argentine Polo stars to raise funds for a good cause

Sporting legends Edwin Moses, Daley Thompson and Hugo Porta were in London last night to enjoy the expertise of the best Polo players on the planet and raise funds to support Laureus in Argentina at the annual Laureus King Power Polo Cup.
Also joining the Laureus Academy Members at the summer sporting spectacle were Rugby World Cup winner and Laureus Ambassador Schalk Burger, England cricketer Jonny Bairstow, actor Tamer Hassan, celebrity figures Frankie Herbert, Olivia Grant and Tess Ward and Made in Chelsea stars Rosie Fortescue, Stephanie Pratt and Oliver Proudlock.
The event, which took place at Ham Polo Club in Richmond, saw the best Polo players in the world compete in the exhibition match. Representing teams sponsored by Alfi Investments and Pampa Energia, nine-goal players Guillermo ‘Sapo’ Caset, Nico Pieres and David ‘Pelon’ Stirling were joined by Argentinian world number one, Aldofo Cambiaso. After an exciting encounter, Alfi Investments managed to hold out last gasp pressure from Pampa Energia in the fourth chukka to win five goals to four.

The Fundación Laureus Argentina is based in Buenos Aires and currently supports nine programmes, who all use the power of sport to improve the lives of children and young people: Asociación Civil Mostrando Caminos; Club Deportivo Barracas (Mi Club Nuestro Lugar); Programa A Ganar; Fundacion El Desafio (Deporte Por La Vida); Proyecto Fatima (Fundación CUBA); Virreyes Hockey, Granja Andar, Fundacion Temas (Escuela de Boxeo) and Club Estudiantes Ferroviario Mitre.
