Ski Jump legends win in March
Ski Jump legends Sven Hannawald and Kamil Stoch have won the Laureus Sporting Moment public vote for the month of March.
Sven, the first man to win all four events of the Four Hills tournament, was commentating in Bischofshofen, Austria and witnessed Kamil making history and becoming the second man to win all four events. Instinctively, Sven left his commentary position and rushed down to personally congratulate Kamil. In an act of respect and sportsmanship, Sven welcomed Kamil to his exclusive ski jumping club.
Each month, from March to December, the public can select their favourite Moment from a shortlist of four videos, chosen by the sporting legends of the Laureus World Sports Academy. Monthly winners will then go head-to-head in a final public vote, with the winner being announced at the 2019 Laureus Awards Ceremony.
The Laureus Sporting Moment Award demonstrates qualities such as fair play, sportsmanship, drama and dedication, and looks beyond the scoreboard or podium. They are the emotional and inspirational aspects of sport which keep fans on the edge of their seats and symbolise the true values of sport, bringing to life the message that sport has the power to change the world.
