
Jan Sandesh
The Jan Sandesh organization has been working since 2001 through its center in New Seemapuri, a resettlement colony slum area in north-east Delhi. The Jan Sandesh Vocational Training Centre (VTC) in New Seemapuri primarily serves the youth of the community, with a special focus on women. New Seemapuri is inhabited mainly by Bihar, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Bangladeshi migrants who came to India in the 1970s and is located near a large garbage dump. The area is densely populated, with over 100,000 residents who earn their livelihoods as construction workers, domestic helpers and waste pickers.
