At the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, Shaun White won his second Olympic gold medal in the snowboarding halfpipe event.
True to character, he achieved it in particular style. On his first run, White scored 46.8, which turned out to be of high enough standard that he was able to win gold without a second run.
Taking the opportunity of a high profile victory lap, however, his second lap ended up breaking the all-time Winter Games points record for the event with 48.4 points out of a possible 50, beating the previous record he had set himself at the 2006 Turin Games by over 1.5 points.
