Sport for Good City Paris relaunches with eight new funded projects

Sport for Good City Paris
Laureus Sport for Good City Paris has welcomed eight new grantees to kick start the next chapter of the programme that has been harnessing the power of collaboration and community to drive positive change through sport in the city since 2020.
To mark this new grant cycle, a celebratory event took place on October 1st at the Wilma Rudolph Gymnasium, where the majority of activities of Paris Basket 18, the iconic women's basketball club in northern Paris currently supported by Sport for Good City Paris, are held. Bringing together the coalition of local associations, programme participants, key funding partners, and Mansour Bahrami, former tennis player and Laureus Ambassador, the day's activities provided an opportunity to discover how sport can unite communities and foster collaboration for a positive impact on the lives of young people.

In partnership with Fondation de France, Altrad Solitarity and H&M Move, Sport for Good City Paris is now focusing its efforts on the 18th and 19th Arrondissements. Over the next three years, a coalition of more than 40 local stakeholders will work collectively with Laureus to achieve a positive social impact on the lives of local young people.

This initiative will utilise sports-based approaches, with a specific focus on improving access to employment, mental health support, and social inclusion – issues identified by the stakeholders as the most pressing challenges facing young people in their communities.

Supporting the following eight-funded projects represents the first step towards the coalition achieving these objectives. These grantees have set up collaborative projects, working together to deliver more impactful outcome within their communities
