In October 2011, flamboyant Spanish golfer Sergio Garcia ended a three-year period without a win with victory in two successive tournaments. In the Castello Masters, he finished 11 strokes ahead of the field and dedicated the victory to his fellow Spaniard and Laureus Academy Member Seve Ballesteros, who died in May.
The victory put Garcia back into the top 40 in the world. The following week he won the Andalucia Masters at Valderrama.
